An illustrative zine reinterpreting La Llorona, a well-known Mexican folklore, focusing on its tragic love story rather than its usual portrayal as a frightening figure used to deter children.

Using the lyrics of “La Llorona” as sung by Angela Aguilar, the narrative presents a sorrowful romance between La Llorona and a mysterious man.

Inspired by Chinese watercolor and traditional landscape painting, the visuals combine Chinese calligraphy with elements of Mexican heritage, weaving together culture, tradition, and storytelling in an 8-page zine.
